Prof. Zhi Quan

IEEE Senior Member

Shenzhen University, China

Quan Zhi, Distinguished Professor of School of Electronics and Information Engineering of Shenzhen University, and winner of National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars. He received a bachelor's degree in communication engineering from Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications in 1999, and a doctor's degree in electronic engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in 2009 with the highest honor of "Outstanding Doctor Award". He was a visiting scholar at Princeton University in the United States from 2007 to 2008. Published more than 30 papers in authoritative academic journals and conferences in the field of international communication and signal processing, with a total of more than 2500 citations; Among them, the pioneering research results on cognitive radio have had a significant impact on the world because of solving the theoretical problems of a class of non-convex optimization, and have been widely followed up by peers in the world (a single paper has been cited for more than 900 times so far), and won the "Best Paper Award" of the IEEE Signal Processing Society in 2012. From 2008 to 2012, he served as a senior system engineer in the research and development department of Qualcomm Incorporated in the United States, mainly studying low-power long-distance wireless transmission technology for the future Internet of Things. His research results have applied for more than 30 U.S. patents (15 have been authorized), and many technical proposals have been adopted by the IEEE 802.11 Standards Committee as the next generation of Wi-Fi communication standards. From 2012 to 2015, he served as a senior RF system engineer and architect at Apple's Silicon Valley headquarters in the United States, mainly responsible for high-precision calibration and large-scale mass production test of the wireless communication module of the iPhone. The proposed high-precision RF calibration method was applied to large-scale mass production of the iPhone, iPad and MacBook, saving Apple tens of millions of dollars in production costs each year.
